Die Laughing

Music and Lyric by Dennis Davison

Your merriment is a bit contagious

I think Ive come down with something or other

Youre more than blue and a touch outrageous

Needless to say you are one funny mother

I never thought that pain could come from so much pleasure

And I never thought that Id die laughing

A titter here and a snicker there never did anyone any disservice

Your jabs are harder to grin and bear though,

Color me standing on this side of nervous.

I never thought that pain could come from so much pleasure

And I never thought that Id die laughing

You are a laugh a second

But time is my enemy

The clock ticks but levity beckons

A lethal shot of comedy

Your wit is sharp and you really slay me

Lying here spent from convulsing with laughter

Im punch-line drunk and a little hazy

Giddily chuckling into the hereafter

I never thought that pain could come from so much pleasure

And I never thought that Id die laughing
